Sarah is a 1993 graduate of the University of Bristol where she also did her residency in feline medicine and PhD. She is an RCVS Specialist in Feline Medicine and enjoys seeing a mixture of first opinion and referral feline patients. Sarah is especially interested in the care of geriatric cats and her company, Vet Professionals, conducts clinical research via online questionnaires submitted by cat owners. She has written a number of books for cat owners and veterinary professionals including ‘Caring for a cat with chronic kidney disease’, ‘Caring for a cat with hyperthyroidism’ and ‘Caring for a cat with lower urinary tract disease’ published by her company Cat Professional.
Furthermore, she has published widely in prestigious international journals and has been an invited speaker to many national and international conferences for veterinary surgeons and nurses/technicians.
Laura graduated from Glasgow in 1990, and was a House Surgeon then locum Resident in Oncology there until 1993. She then moved to a locum post followed by a BSAVA Petsavers Residency in Clinical Oncology at Cambridge. After finishing her residency in 1996, she completed a PhD in gene therapy for thyroid tumours in Glasgow. She returned to clinics in Glasgow as Senior Registrar in Oncology and Haematology, then moved to University of Liverpool in January 2002, as Senior Lecturer in Oncology. She was made Professor of Small Animal Oncology in 2011. Laura has also been Clinical Director of the Small Animal Teaching Hospital at Liverpool since 2009, and is Head of the Small Animal Division. Her clinical interests are medical and radiation oncology, and clinical pathology, and her research interests include the molecular genetics and therapeutics of cancer.
